Italy – Airport Staff to Strike

Employees in the Italian aviation sector, including pilots, flight attendants, ground-handlers, and airport service workers will stage strikes on May 25. Unless averted, the work stoppages could cause delays and some cancellations of short-to-medium haul flights across the country’s airspace.

Scotland – Mumps

After a recent outbreak of mumps in Scotland, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a “Level 1 – Watch” advisory on travel to Scotland. This means travelers should practice normal precautions and ensure they are vaccinated for mumps.

Q and A

Where is the safest place to sit on an airplane?

Great question! A number of studies have been done in recent years looking at survival patterns. Th consensus is that the odds favor folks in the back of the plane. It’s important to remember that odds are general and may or may not apply to individual crashes. Still, if you want to go with the odds, head to an aisle seat in the back of the plane.
