Shots Fired at LAX

November 1, 2013

Parts of Los Angeles International Airport have been evacuated after reports of shots being fired there. Airport officials said a police incident began about 9:30 a.m. at Terminal 3 at LAX when a person with a firearm approached a checkpoint and opened fire . A “ground stop” has been issued for planes scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport. A ground stop means flights destined for the affected airport are held at their departure point. The area around the airport is jammed with cars as police shut down access to the airport.

This is a developing story. All travelers with flights to/from LAX today are encouraged to check flight status before departure. Travel-On/Travel Place agents are in the process of contacting affected travelers.
