What is the difference between having Global Entry and using the passport kiosks at JFK?
JFK was the second airport (after Chicago O’Hare) to install automated passport kiosks for use by U.S. or Canadian citizens or green card holders in an effort to speed up the Customs process. These kiosks provide basically the same experience that Global Entry membership does. However, Global Entry members can take advantage of kiosks at 44 airports and also receive automatic membership in TSA’s Pre-Check program. The kiosks Delta provided for terminal 4 at JFK are strictly an effort to decrease the wait time for Customs at that airport.
