Israel/Jordan – Security for Papal Visit
Pope Francis is planning to visit Amman, Jordan, May 24, before traveling on to Jerusalem May 25-26. A combination of security precautions, a large media presence, and crowds is likely to cause traffic delays wherever the pope travels or makes a public appearance. Major traffic disruptions are likely in northwestern Amman in the afternoon and evening May 24. In Jerusalem, security officials have warned that they will close streets in the Old City on the morning of May 26. Flight delays may occur at the Amman and Jerusalem airports.
