Ukraine – Sunday Elections and Martial Law

Tens of thousands of police and volunteers being deployed to maintain public order ahead of the presidential election on Sunday. 55,700 police forces and 20,000 volunteers being mobilized to guarantee security during voting while extra security measures will be taken in the eastern Donesk and Lugansk regions. The leadership of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine declared martial law Thursday and asked Russia to send troops to protect civilians.
