U.S. and U.K. – Security Increases

Passengers traveling on any airline to the U.S. from select airports in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa should expect additional security measures relative to carry-on items. All battery-operated electronic devices intended for carry-on must be operational, including tablets, phones, e-readers, and laptops. If the device cannot be powered on it will not travel on the flight and could be confiscated. Travelers should be mindful of this and limit use of electronics as needed to ensure that they have power when passing through all security checkpoints. Passengers are encouraged to allow an additional 30-45 minutes at the airport to account for these and other additional screening requirements. These measures have been extended to include some flights to and from the U.K. regardless of destination or origin, and some flights within the U.S.
