Belgium – Allow Extra Time for Passport Control

Police officers at Brussels Airport will stage a work-to-rule action Oct. 25-Nov. 2. As part of the industrial action, police intend to carry out rigorous identity checks on all arriving and departing travelers, with the intention of eliciting long queues. Expect significantly increased processing time at passport controls. Union members might also stage sporadic protests at BRU, possibly causing disruptions at airport entrances. The action is unlikely to directly affect departing passenger flights; however, officials might delay aircraft to allow travelers time to pass through passport control.
