Chile – Calbuco Volcano

Authorities fear a new crater opening up on the Calbuco volcano, triggering a violent new eruption. There is the potential that the ash cloud could impede travel not only to Chile but also to nearby South American countries Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay. Airlines are watching this situation closely and some have begun providing waivers for travel that may be impacted.
