U.S. – First Named Storm

Tropical Depression Ana is tracking northwestward toward the coast of South and North Carolina. Ana could make landfall near Myrtle Beach, S.C. late May 10. However, there is some ambiguity in the storm’s track, and the system may remain offshore as it sharply tracks north-northeast toward Virginia on May 11. The National Weather Service has issued Tropical Storm Warnings from Charleston to Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Tropical Storm Watch advisories from Wilmington to Cape Lookout, N.C. The system will bring rainfall approaching 2-4 inches and potentially strong wind gusts to the Carolina coastline, May 8-10.
