Philippines – Heightened Alert Status

The Philippines National Police are on heightened alert across the country through Jan 1st. Pickpocketing, bag-snatching, and robbery rates normally increase ahead of the holidays and travelers are urged to be vigilant. Police will increase patrols, deploy additional personnel, and co-ordinate with malls, banks, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment centers to boost security.
