Southwest System Change

Southwest is migrating to a new reservation system with a planned cut-over date of May 8th. Reservations that overlap May 8th (ex: depart on May 5th and return on May 10th) will fail due to the request going to both systems at the same time. To alleviate this risk, Southwest is not accepting these types of reservations on any booking platform, including Deem, Concur, and their own website. Travel that spans May 8th must be booked as separate reservations (i.e. one reservation for all segments prior to May 8th and a separate reservation for all segments on or after May 8th).

Online Bookings – Programming is in place on Deem and Concur to prevent users from making single Southwest reservations spanning May 8th, with verbiage to instruct them to make separate one-way reservations instead.

Agent Bookings – Agents are automatically creating separate one-way reservations.
