China – Severe Heat Wave

The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has activated a level two emergency heat response as meteorologists forecast temperatures could reach 100-106 F through August 8th. The emergency heat wave response covers several provinces, including Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Fujian, and Shanghai, and Chongqing municipalities. The heat wave will dramatically increase power demands, which could cause electricity malfunctions and power outages and affect factory production. Transport disruptions are also likely.
