We all know the famous names behind airports like Dulles, LaGuardia, JFK, Reagan, Bob Hope, etc., but what about these?
- Chicago O’Hare – named for WWII flying ace, Lt. Butch O’Hare
- Ted Stevens Anchorage – named for longest-serving Republican senator
- James M. Cox Dayton – named for former governor and presidential candidate
- Austin-Bergstrom – named for Capt. J.A.E. Bergstrom, the first Austinite killed in WWII
- Boston Logan – named for Boston native Gen. Edward L. Logan
- Billings Logan – named for Dick Logan, the airport manager
- Hector International in Fargo – named for Martin Hector, who donated the land for the airport
- Rick Husband Amarillo – named for Columbia astronaut Rick Husband
- Dallas Love Field – named for Lt. M.L. Love, the 10th fatality in U.S. Army aviation history
