France – Commuter Rail Disruptions in Paris
The RER rapid transit system in Paris will be severely affected by an ongoing nationwide rail strike through 0800 June 14. The strike will likely cause delays on the some of the busiest commuter lines in the city. Of the five RER lines, the B and D lines will only operate one third of its trains, and the C and E lines will operate one half of its trains; the A line will likely only have minimal delays. The reduced service may cause overcrowding on alternate mass transit services and Parisian streets and highways. Expect a higher volume of commuters on bus lines as well as a higher demand for taxis.
