Germany – Flood-Related Rail Disruptions Continue

Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) announced July 9 that the high-speed (ICE) passenger route between Berlin and Hannover will remain suspended through at least July 28. The ICE trains between Berlin and Hannover, a distance of around 155 miles, must detour via Magdeburg and Braunschweig, increasing travel not only on the Berlin-Hannover route, but also on other lines that share the overcrowded rail.
