Greece – Public Sector Union to Protest in Athens

The main umbrella public sector union ADEDY will stage an anti-austerity demonstration in Athens beginning at 1830 on April 28 to protest recently-announced austerity cuts. The gathering will occur on Syntagma Square, in front of the parliament building. Participation at the event will be high. Other unions may join the event, increasing the number of participants. Expect moderate traffic and public service disruptions. Police may cordon off the square and surrounding metro stations, causing significant traffic jams on nearby streets.
