Hon Kong – Rallies

Activists plan to hold a series of sit-ins, speeches, and debates to commemorate the first anniversary of the Umbrella Movement at Tamar Park on Sept. 26-28. Members of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China plan to rally on Sept. 27 in Tsim Sha Tsui. Organizers of the People Power activist movement have called on supporters to block Gloucester Road in Causeway Bay on Sept. 28 for 87 minutes. Additional rallies could occur throughout the city. Police will probably significantly increase security near likely protest locations, especially Tamar Park. Localized traffic disruptions may occur.
