If the credit card I used to guarantee my hotel reservation is stolen and re-issued before my hotel stay do I need to let the hotel know or does it not matter?
That’s a great question! Most of the time it won’t matter because you’ll give a new form of payment when you arrive. However, if the hotel is over-sold your credit card may be “tested” a day or two prior to arrival. If the credit card is declined for any reason that can be enough for the hotel to cancel your reservation without notice. Who wants to take that chance? To be sure that doesn’t happen to you, contact the hotel to update your hotel guarantee card, or ask your Travel-On agent to do so.
