Indonesia – Mount Sinabung Eruptions

Authorities said that Mount Sinabung erupted nine times overnight Nov. 23-24, spewing ash and rocks as high as 5 miles into the air. Authorities have ordered the evacuation of thousands of residents in 23 villages around the volcano. The frequent eruptions and volcanic ash are prompting flight cancellations and delays at Kuala Namu International Airport in Deli Serdang. Disruptions also cannot be ruled out at Medan’s Polonia Airport.
