Israel – Airline Workers Plan Possible Strike

Workers employed by Israeli airlines El Al, Israir, and Arkia have announced plans to launch a possible strike beginning at 0500 April 21 in protest of Israel’s “Open Skies” agreement with the EU. The workers have not yet announced the duration of the work stoppage. The advance notice of the labor action may enable the affected airlines to mitigate such delays to some degree; however, severe disruptions to the companies’ international and domestic operations are likely if the strike is not averted.
