Italy – Nationwide Public Transit Strike Dec. 16
Eight Italian trade unions have called for a public transit strike in several cities across the country Dec. 16. The schedule of the action will differ in each city, with rolling four-hour work stoppages taking place. The industrial action will disrupt all modes of public transportation, including bus, trolley bus, tram, metro, regional rail, and commuter rail services. The strike is not likely to be crippling, as Italian law requires the maintenance of a minimum level of service during work stoppages.
