Italy – Toll Booth Workers Stage Nationwide Strike

All highway staff, including toll booth attendants, will stage two separate work stoppages, with the first taking place 1000-1400 Aug. 3 and the second from 1800 Aug. 3 until 0200 Aug. 4. Authorities anticipate that toll lanes equipped with unmanned cash collection machines or devices to accept automated payment methods will operate normally during the strike. It remains unclear, however, what impact the walk-out will have on motorists passing through nonautomated booths.
