I’ve heard that if I use my DOD ID number I can gain access to TSA Pre-Check – is that true?

Yes, members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including National Guard and Reserves, can gain membership in the TSA Pre-Check program by using their DOD ID number as a Known Traveler Number. To do this simply enter your 10-digit DOD ID (CAC) number in the Known Traveler Number box of your Travel-On and frequent flyer profile. Civilian military members must first “opt-in” via Milconnect in order to activate their CAC numbers to work for TSA.
