My hotel reservation was cancelled because the hotel said the credit card was invalid. The card is just for guarantee so why does it matter?
It is increasingly common for hotels to place a small “test charge” on a credit card 0-3 days prior to a guests arrival. This is one way a sold-out or oversold hotel manages inventory. If the card expired or is rendered invalid for any reason between the time the reservation is made and the check-in date the hotel may cancel your reservation without notice. If you need to replace your card for any reason please be sure to not only update your profile, but to also ask your Travel-On agent to change the card in any hotel reservations you may already be holding.
