A tropical Depression in the Philippine Sea southeast of Manila is expected to become a typhoon the evening of Oct. 14 before further strengthening into Category 3-equivalent storm. Models project it will make landfall in southern Aurora Province Oct. 16. The storm will weaken slightly as it crosses central Luzon, but is expected to regain strength upon entering the South China Sea. The storm remains far from landfall, and the path could change in the coming days.
