U.S. Southwest – Dangerously High Temps

A prolonged heat wave is bringing dangerously high temperatures to interior areas of California, Arizona, Nevada, and northwestern Mexico through at least June 30. The National Weather Service has issued excessive heat warnings for numerous counties in the affected US states. Temperatures may exceed 100 F in the Los Angeles metropolitan area (excluding areas on the immediate Pacific Coast). Temperatures of up to 120 F are possible in the low deserts of southern California and 110 F in the upper deserts and Inland Empire. Daytime highs in the Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Tucson metropolitan areas could exceed 115 F through June 30.
