United States – Severe Flooding Continuing Along Colorado Front Range
Severe flooding is continuing along the Front Range in Colorado. Heavily affected areas include Estes Park, Lyons, Loveland, Longmont, Boulder, Arvada, Commerce City, and Aurora. Flooding may worsen in some of these areas through at least midday Sept. 13. The worst flooding has occurred in and around Boulder, where about 12 inches of rain fell Sept. 11-12. A flood emergency was issued and more evacuations were ordered in the city late Sept. 12, when a massive wall of mud and debris flowed out of Boulder Canyon. A state of emergency has been declared to release federal disaster assistance.
