Washington DC – Metro Work

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will conduct the ninth of 15 “Safety Surges” to address necessary maintenance work on Metro rail lines from Sept. 15-Oct. 26. Weekday continuous single tracking will occur on the rail line between the Vienna and West Falls Church stations. The single tracking will result in a reduction of service at the Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church, and East Falls Church stations. Passengers are urged to allow extra commuting time. In addition to the single tracking, the maintenance project will also result in the following weekend shutdown schedule:

Sept. 24-25 and Oct. 1-2: Vienna, Dunn Loring, and West Falls Church stations closed; shuttle buses to replace trains between Vienna and East Falls Church stations

Oct. 8-9 and Oct. 15-16: Vienna and Dunn Loring stations closed; shuttle buses to replace trains between Vienna and West Falls Church stations
